N-Power Training Deployment And Assignment Centre – N-Power is a job creation and empowerment initiative designed by FG is to help young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills to become solution providers in their communities and to become players in the domestic and global markets. There are 3 programmes under N-Power.

  1. N-Power Teacher Corps Programme
  2. N-Power Knowledge Programme
  3. N-Power Build Programme

DEPLOYMENT:

 I was selected, what do I do now:

The engagement date for all successful N-Power Volunteer Corps members will be December 1st 2016. Successful applicants will be notified by SMS and E-mail from Saturday, November 19th 2016.

From Monday, November 21st 2016, all successful applicants are required to go to www.npvn.npower.gov.ng where they are expected to log in to their personal NPVC accounts and update their information as may be required. Successful applicants must provide valid bank account information for the purposes of payment of monthly stipends. Information regarding deployment will also be accessible on the N-Power web portal as soon as the States indicate the primary places of assignment of each successful NPVC member.

 How long is the N-Power Teacher Corps Programme for:

The N-Power Teacher Corps is a paid volunteering programme of a 2 year duration for 500,000 unemployed Nigerian graduates.

 Benefits of N-Power Teacher Corps:

  1. A Computing Device that will contain information necessary for the specific engagement
  2. Entrepreneurial and Employability skills
  3. National Skills Qualification Certificate
  4. Monthly Stipends of N30,000

 How long is the N-Power Knowledge Programme for:

N-Power Knowledge is a 3 month training to jobs initiative that will engage 25,000 young unemployed Nigerians.

 Benefits of N-Power Knowledge:

  1. A Computing Device that will contain information necessary for the specific engagement
  2. Entrepreneurial and Employability skills
  3. National Skills Qualification Certificate
  4. International Industry Grade Certificate

How long is the N-Power Build Programme for:

N-Power Build is a 3 months accelerated training and certification (Skills to Job) that will engage 75,000 young employed Nigerians.

 Benefits of N-Power Build Programme:

  1. A Toolbox Kit
  2. Entrepreneurial and Employability skills
  3. National Skills Qualification Certificate

 

SELECTION

 How many applicants were selected:

The N-Power Programme will be implemented in phases. The first phase of the N-Power Volunteer Corps Programme (NPVC) starts with 200,000. The initial phase of NPVC has been sub-divided as follows:

  1. N-Power Teach/ Community – 150,000
  2. N-Power Agro – 30,000
  3. N-Power Health – 20,000

The residue of 300,000 will be engaged in subsequent phases.

 How were applicants selected for the N-Power Teach & Community Education programmes:

Selection was done in a fair and transparent manner as applicants were assessed on their basic knowledge of English, general knowledge, quantitative reasoning, as well as other education-specific questions. Special consideration was given to North-Eastern states to mitigate the adverse socio-economic circumstances in the North East. Other factors that were taken into consideration include gender and disability.

 How were applicants selected for the N-Power Agro programme:

Selection was done in a fair and transparent manner. Selection was based on 40% of all the applications received from each state. Applicants were assessed on their basic knowledge of English, general knowledge, quantitative reasoning, as well as other agriculture-specific questions. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) also apportioned about 7,000 of those selected across each states to promote self sufficiency targets in the agriculture value chain. Other factors that were taken into consideration include gender and disability.

Why do some states have more selected applicants than others?

40% of all applicants were selected in all the states for the N-Power Teach, Community and Agro programmes. While under the N-Power Agro programme, 50% of the applicants were selected in all states. Also, north-eastern states and states that had low numbers were given special consideration.

 How were applicants selected for the N-Power Health programme:

Selection was done in a fair and transparent manner as applicants were assessed on their basic knowledge of English, general knowledge, quantitative reasoning, as well as other health-specific questions. Other factors that were taken into consideration include gender and disability.

 How would I know the status of my application:

You can check the N-Power website (www.npower.gov.ng), the N-PowerFacebook page, or if possible, contact your respective State Focal Persons.

  I was not selected, is there another list:

For those who have not been selected at this time, there is a waiting list and subsequent phase(s) will absorb more qualified applicants.

 How would I know my primary place of assignment:

The primary places of assignment will be primary schools, primary health care centres and State Agriculture Development Project (ADPs) within the Local Government Centres. State Focal Persons are responsible for deploying successful volunteers to their primary places of assignment from Monday, 21st of November 2016.

What can I do to prepare for deployment:

All successful NPVC members are able to gain access to content for learning employability skills such as critical thinking and communication. Specific Information regarding training and induction will be provided in the subsequent days.

What happens to people that registered for N-Power Knowledge/ N-Power Build:

Information regarding selection of applicants into the N-Power Knowledge and N-Power Build programmes will be provided in the coming weeks.

 I was posted to my previous location and now I have relocated. Can I be redeployed to my current location:

Yes you can be redeployed. However, you will begin the programme in the next phase of deployment. Please note that this does not affect your status as a selected N-Power Volunteer Corps member. To effect your redeployment, please click on this link and fill in the required information.

All successful volunteers are encouraged to provide accurate information during their verification process. Applicants who have provided or intend to provide false information will be disqualified and sanctions will be meted out.

    • I was selected due to lack of information I was not aware of verification in DEC . I did mine in Jan up till today no info as per where to work or monthly stipend please what can I do update me . can I still be reconsider I need information
