National Skills Development Programme Recruitment 2017 | Application Guide and Requirements


The National Skills Development Programme (NSDP), under the Ministry of Education & Human Resources, Tertiary Education & Scientific Research is a project announced in the budget 2017/2018 and is being implemented by the HRDC, which involves training of 4000 unemployed youths.

To better match skills with the demand of employers, the youth will be enlisted for training and placement in technical skills that are in demand, namely in ICT, construction, Tourism and Hospitality, Nursing and Paramedics, Manufacturing, Financial services and Logistics.

The Programme will target unemployed youth having studied up to the HSC and in the age group of 16 – 35 years old.

The training and placement will be of 3 to 12 months duration. The trainees will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 + Rs. 1,000 travelling expenses based on attendance and upon satisfactory participation in the training.

The placement component of the NSDP will be implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For National Skills Development Programme Recruitment 2017

  • Unemployed youths aged 16 years – 35 years.
  • For the construction sector, people between 18 and 35 years are eligible.

What are the benefits of the scheme?

  • Benefits from training for skills that are in high demand in the relevant industries/sectors.
  • At the end of successful completion of training, a certificate will be issued as applicable by TEC/MQA regulations
  • A stipend of Rs 5,000 plus Rs 1,000 for travelling expenses.
